Sometimes, standard won't do.
At Industri/Motion, we've got years of experience tackling our customer's toughest problems. There's a benefit to using off-the-shelf product, but sometimes you just need a better solution.
Many of the fine manufacturers we represent have extensive experience in producing modified standard, or completely custom products. Custom solutions can be surprisingly cost effective when you take the whole picture into consideration.
Bring us a problem application, and let's see if a custom solution is right for you.

Force Control Positorq Tension Control Brakes
The Positorq brakes work well in tension applications, especially unwind stands, where the brake is used to maintain tension on the strip. This can be paper, board, plastic, copper, steel and wire stands. The brake can be coupled, flange mounted or connected through gear, belt, or chain drive, 50 Lb. Ft. to 200,000 Lb. Ft. Continuous tension, linear control based on pressure. The Positorq Brakes operate by applying pressure on a piston or pistons clamping the friction stack. The tighter the clamping force the higher the torque, and it is not affected by speed. The actuation medium can be pneumatic or hydraulic. The hydraulic actuation is more controllable.
Hilliard Braking Systems
Hilliard Electric Brakes for Elevator Modernization
Hilliard offers its customers two styles of spring applied electric released brakes that can be easily fitted to “A” frame elevator drives. These brakes are designed to apply when unintended travel of the car occurs. Hilliard Electric Brakes provide positive stopping and reliable holding of rotating devices on demand-every time. Spring engaged when current is interrupted and electromagnetically released when voltage is applied, these brakes are designed for maximum flexibility and long, dependable service. Each brake has an easy-to-adjust wear bolt to compensate for friction service wear and extend the life of the brake.

The Hilliard MK Brake is designed for use on elevators, conveyors, cranes, or other devices requiring a spring-applied electromagnetically released brake. The patented MK brake can be applied to a guide rail or a brake disc. It is unique in that it is direct acting with only one moving part. The brake incorporates an electromagnetic coil that uses a voltage dropping circuit to minimize current draw and heat when the brake is released. Brake is shipped with manual release bolts for easy assembly to the rail or disc. It can also be equipped with a manual release mechanism for a momentary release of the brake using a standard open-end or socket wrench.
The MK350 is an electromagnetic, fail safe caliper brake. Spring applied, electric released, it is suitable for holding duty and emergency for applications such as conveyors, elevators and cranes. Alternative mounting arrangement: pin mounting, base mounting horizontal and base mounting angle.
The MK350 is capable of producing a maximum 350 LBF of braking force with up to 210 VDC release voltage and 100 VDC holding voltage. Mounted on pins allowing for axial movement, it has an optional manual release mechanism for a momentarily brake release with a standard open-end or socket wrench.
